GambiGo ("we", "our", or "us") operates the GambiGo mobile application and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us and information collected automatically when you use our services:
- Account Information: Name, phone number, email address, and profile photo when you create an account.
- Location Data: Real-time GPS location to connect riders with nearby drivers, calculate fares, and provide navigation. Location is collected only while the app is in active use.
- Camera and Photos: We access your camera and photo library when you upload profile photos, driver documents (license, vehicle registration, insurance), or restaurant images. Photos are only captured when you explicitly initiate an upload.
- Payment Information: Payment method preferences (Cash or Wave Mobile Money). We do not store your Wave PIN or financial credentials.
- Ride and Order History: Details of your rides, food orders, and package deliveries including pickup/dropoff locations, fares, and timestamps.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and push notification tokens for delivering notifications.
- Communications: In-app chat messages between riders and drivers during active trips.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain our ride-hailing, food delivery, and package delivery services.
- To match riders with available drivers based on proximity.
- To calculate and process fares and delivery fees.
- To send you WhatsApp verification codes for account authentication.
- To send push notifications about ride status, order updates, and promotions.
- To process referral rewards and loyalty points (GambiGo Points).
- To ensure safety through SOS alerts and trip monitoring.
- To improve our services through analytics and usage patterns.
- To comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
3. Information Sharing
We share your information in the following circumstances:
- Between Riders and Drivers: When a trip is active, we share your name, phone number, and real-time location with the other party to facilitate the service.
- Restaurant Partners: When you place a food order, we share your delivery address and name with the restaurant.
- Payment Processors: We share necessary transaction details with Wave Mobile Money to process payments.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on Microsoft Azure. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and secure authentication (JWT tokens).
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Ride and order history is retained for accounting and dispute resolution purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Opt out of promotional notifications via app settings.
7. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
